I CONTACTED YOU BECAUSE OF YOUR NAME,

My Dear,

I am a personal attorney to my late client. Since he and his family perished in a local plane crash here in Benin,I have done all my best to contact any of his family members for 3 years now. He has (USD$18.700, 000) Eighteen million, seven hundred thousand United State Dollars. in a Storage facility, and I have all the document of deposit and none of his family member knows about this deposit or has tried to enquire about it till date.Your last name matches with my late client’s name; hence I solicit your cooperation to work with me to claim the funds as a next of kin.

Even the storage facility does not know that the deposited boxes contain money. The storage facility will release the boxes to anyone I endorse, and there is no risk and we will share 50/50. If no one claims the funds soon, through the safe deposit law, after 3years of none performance of demurrage settlement the deposit would be auctioned.

Regards,
Maitre Davies

My Dear Maitre,

This letter comes to me as quite a shock. My cousin Wooly M. Reed is currently touring the western coast of Africa. We haven't heard from him in some time.

Please get to me all the information you can. Are you speaking of Wooly M. Reed!?

Sincerely and urgently,
John F. Reed - Wooly M. Reed's cousin

Thanks for your quick response

Dear Reed,

I thank you for your response; I am assuring you my sincere business intention. I am a lawyer, and you don’t have anything to be afraid of, I cannot cheat you and I know you cannot cheat me as well as the entire tranasction would be covered with contract agreement. As I told you earlier, this money belongs to my late client whom I cannot locate any of his living relation and the most interesting part of it is that the storage company does not know the content of the boxes. It is better we take this funds and help ourselves and families than to leave it with the storage facility to enrich themselves, I have spent a lot of money on local logistics for the safety of this transaction and will not want any mistake that will make this deal to fail. This is why you must be sincere of your readiness to proceed.

Only your complete address and ID and phone numbers are required.

You have the same surname with my late client Ferdinand D Reed, and this makes everything easy for me, no one will ever ask question in the future once we conclude this transaction, and if there is any question, it would be addressed to me since I am the one that the storage facility will ask to confirm, and once I confirm you as the real beneficiary to the deposited boxes then the deal will be closed successfully.

The amount involved in this transaction is USD$18.700, 000 and I hope you have accepted my offer of 50/50 share. You will provide me with your address and phone numbers to enable me call you.

I will send you the application which you will sign and forward to the Storage facility. Once your application is approved, which is inevitable, the boxes would be released to you. Once this is done, I will meet you for sharing, or give you account where you will wire my own part to me. This transaction is supposed to be completed few working days from the day you submit your application.

I hope you understand, you can call me on my number anytime. I will give you other details on your reply.

Thanks.
Regards,
Maitre Davies.

Maitre Davies,

I enriched myself in a storage facility once. Sticky...

Anyway, moving along, which address of mine do you need? My home, summer home, winter home, or weekend getaway cabin at the lake?

Tell me which address you would like, and I'll give you the information for that location plus phone number.

I'm not too familiar with Ferdinand Reed, but I do know of a European relative who visited here referring to himself as Fred Reed. Perhaps this is him. Either way - anything for the family.

Thank you for your help!

Blumpkin,

Maitre Davies,

I am hurt and offended and insulted that you would question the intensity of my seriousness when it comes to my business skills.

I have gone through your message too, Maitre, and now I'm starting to have my doubts about you as well. I'm beginning to question your authority and expertise in these matters.

For God's sake, Maitre, a member of the Reed family's name is at stake. Not just his name, but his honor and legacy, and yet you play these games.

No, sir, I am afraid it is I that must question YOU on your sincerity in these matters. If you wish to continue business I suggest you respond immediately. First with an apology, and second with SPECIFIC information requests.

Good day, Sir,

Looky here Maitre,

I want to be completely honest with you, ok? The memory of a member of my family is at stake here and I believe you are making things difficult. Why do I believe you are making things difficult for me? I believe you are doing so out of jealousy - jealous of my multiple homes.

I will never apologize for my success.

But, you asked for one address, so I'll give you one.

I'm sure you're not jealous. You're a successful businessman just like me. I'm sure you have access to everything your heart desires. Stay gold, pony-boy (that's a popular saying here in the United States - one of encouragement).

Attached is my license. I hope this helps, although I don't know how it would. Run along now and fetch whatever forms and documents you need.

I had a personal question to ask you earlier today. I was thinking of visiting Benin on holiday, and I was wondering if you'd be able to point me in the right direction for a little 'company', maybe an escort, as it were. I called you phone number, +22998551337, but there was no answer.

Please email me, on the side, with suggestions as to which hotel I could stay while in Benin. I need a hotel that offers top floor suites, beach views, and is tolerant of guests who enjoy late night 'visitors'.

Thank you in advance for your hotel and escort recommendation, and thank you for your hard work in our business matter.

My friend Maitre,

I won't be getting to Benin for a couple months, earliest arrival being sometime in September, due to a few current obligations and business dealings here that won't come to a close until sometime around then.

Actually, since we are indeed business partners I should disclose to you the entire truth. I've booked a flight and will be arriving in Benin on September 19th, arriving from Lagos on Virgin Nigeria flight VK103. I'll be there for ten days, so that'll be plenty of time for you to show me around.

I'm not kidding around about the escorts. Find me what I want and you will be handsomely rewarded. I have very specific requests. There are certain 'things' I like my escorts to 'do'.

I've tried calling you again, +22998551337, but still no answer.

I await to hear from you and your secretary. Let's get this business of ours done quickly so I can worry only about relaxing upon my arrival.

Maitre,

My apologies for my delayed response. It was a long weekend, and I still feel sick. Since we are business partners we have to be honest with each other. So, then, I think you should know the truth. I was busy all weekend drinking whiskey and Red Bull and doing blow with six hookers, all named Candi, at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.

Hangovers and strange burning sensations aside, this is just a good news from my side. I have attached a scan of my most recent license. I didn't realize I scanned my old one for you on accident. That was my fault and I apologize. This license I've scanned for you is the newest one from California - it has holograms over the image (my face) so you might see some odd lettering here and there.

I'm sorry about how much more this might cost you, but if it does cost you extra, really, it's your secretary's fault.

Now, please, let us return to my favorite part of our business conversation - the escorts. Really? They'll eat my manhood? How about blumpkins? Strawberry Shortcakes? Out of curiosity, and please understand that I am completely 100% serious when I ask - how much would it cost to rent one for an entire week? If I find something I like I might want to keep it around.

One last matter to discuss, your phone number. Once again I called +22998551337, and once again I didn't get through to you. Did I forget a country code or something?

So sign the agreement and power of the Attorney and return them to me. So that i can prepare the Application of claim which you are going to forward to the finance house where the funds is deposited.

For the Death certificate We have to pay them about $900. I am going to give you an information on how you are going to send it if i receive the signed documents from you. As this is the only delay now

Maitre,

I got your signed documents, I got them right here.

You asked me to sign two of the three documents you sent me, but I signed all three. Why? Why did I sign all three? Because I'm an overachiever. I don't do things half-assed like other people involved in this transaction. Rather, I do things better, harder, longer, and faster - lube or no lube.

Be that as it may, in other words, moving along, and from here on out, see the three documents attached. Signed and ready.

Now let's talk about this Death Certificate. I'm not paying $900 for a death certificate. Nobody charges for a Death Certificate. Maybe, in some countries/cities, you might be charged somewhere between $25 and $50 for a COPY of a Death Certificate, but that's it.

Put down your cigarette and bourbon and see if you can get me a better price for a Death Certificate. I see you want me to foot the bill, but I'm not paying $900.

You're a good man and you do good, hard work.

Attn: John,

Here in Benin there is no much payment for the death certificate. But you must understand that all of them want something on their table to make the process out. Even i have to settle the chief mortician and other little attendants there. And their medical director that will sign this. Because when i make the demand it set them on eye brow how sudden i requested for a death certificate of a foreigner.

But this not withstanding we just need to pay them so their eyes will be off from what ever we are doing and we can get our self done. So what ever you think we can use to settle them then go ahead and send. I have to see how i can solicit. If not enough i will see how much i can then contribute. So make the payment by western union or MONEY GRAM to the bellow information.

Receiver Name: AKOMAS VINCENT IHEAKANNA
Receiver Address: 221 VON DE TRIO COTONOU

Question: HOW ARE YOU
Answer FINE.

Now do your best to make sure that the payment is made today and let me know the amount you sent. Provide the sender information and control number for confirmation and collection. Or possible send the copy of the payment receipt. Awaits to get this done as soon as possible

Because tomorrow Saturday is the only day we have for the working. And we need not to make any other delay. Application of claim i will also make it ready today to avoid any other delay.

Maitre, I'm so sorry for the delay in responding to you.

To keep it short, over some MINOR misunderstanding I've been in jail in Bern, Switzerland for a week. I promise you I didn't do anything. So I went out and got a little drunk with some escorts... Big deal. They say I urinated on an officer of the law, but I beg to differ. First, it was a police dog. Second, I thought it was a bush. Third, come on, I WAS DRUNK!

Some people. Do they arrest people for urinating in public in Benin? That's kind of my thing. Golden showers. I like it. I pay enough money so my escorts like it. It's a good time.

Anyway, does the wire transfer information still stand? Is it too late? Are there tardiness penalty fees? What's the average cup size over there?

Let me apologize. I got in trouble for urinating in public. They put me in jail. Then they let me go.

Apparently, they let the wrong man go! I was picked up at my brother's house about two days after they released me. They explained the error as they brought be back to prison - and once there they extended my stay for 'breaking out of jail'!

It's official now, though, and I have letters of apology from the senator and the governor explaining that I'm not a convict and that I am in debt no further jail time.

I would have contacted you earlier and apologized earlier, but, like I said, I was in jail.

Is our business still able to proceed? Do we need to start over? If I have let you down, sir, I apologize.

Dear John F. Reed,

I don’t know how it will be for to come here in person because the bank needed you for necessary legal signing of the fund payment release order bond already approved on your names if not the long absence observed from your side as a result of the prison you said you went which I never pray you go back again.

You are millionaire judging from the amount of money you have here with the bank.

What you are supposed to be talking right now should be about your coming here in person and if you can’t show in person here in the bank then know that it will cost you money to get a financial accredited attorney who is legally authorised by the government to act as fiduciary on behalf of anyone who has a financial matters with the banking institution but is absent.

The bank has in accordance with their official guide lines on the last quarter of this fiscal year 2010 scheduled the funds to be paid to you on or before the 10th day of December 2010.

So do let me know how soon you can be here or the way you chose to carry out the necessary bond signing as to warrant me revert to them.

You're wrong, I USED to be rich. Lawyers, paying off gang members to leave me alone while in prison, and paying off my wife who left me while I was in prison have left me nearly destitute. My wife took two of my favorite yachts, the lawyer took several of the sportscars and the summer house in Fiji, etc... You, being a fellow businessman, surely understands.

These have been dark days, my brother. Dark, dark days. I am ashamed to admit what I had to do to survive in that place.

Maitre,

Oh my God.

I've been with Amadi and her sisters (Sethunya and Dada) all this time. I've seen things and done things I never knew possible.

Just checking in to let you know I'm ok. When we finish up here I'll contact you.

Full Steam Ahead,

Dear John F. Reed ,

I know you are just cracking jokes thinking the transaction is a Scam…

The fast ones take it all by fast.

Your former vice president to W. Bush before he climbed to that position made his money in Africa a nearby country Nigeria where he gave a bribe of one hundred and eighty million dollars to officials and pulled out six billion dollars.

You can check this story with Nigerian news online, today Nigerians wants to make case with him as what he did has been opened because his Nigerian counterparts did not destroy the deal file.

These are the people in America who stand to tell you that any financial transaction in Africa is a scam!!! Now who is a scam?

But your case is different as what you are having here today with me is legal and genuine still you are trying to use ignorance to spoil what I spent money working for it to bring a good favour for I and you, and now at the time it has materialize to profit us greatly you are behaving this way…if you are not serious, please don’t worry and don’t waste more time to tell me out rightly that you are no longer able to handle this matter as to warrant me change beneficiary that is changing your name with another person’s name who can be capable to visit us and conclude this transaction of receiving the funds within the shortest possible time.

Maitre Davies.

Maitre,

First of all, I was about to write you just now about Amadi and Dada. Just, I mean, wow. I never experienced that kind of pleasure. If what they can do is indicative of all African women, then I just may never leave. (I'm in Porto Novo by the way)

The last time I checked, I'm a grown and mature man. I don't remember needing to check in with you and report my whereabouts to you. I told you I was coming. I told you when I was arriving and where? I told you I was waiting for you. And how did you respond?

Nothing.

You didn't show up. You didn't call. You just emailed me asking for a scan of my passport. I was standing outside the airport with nobody to pick me up (I sent you the picture) and you're asking me for pictures.

So I turned my bad luck (waiting for you) into good luck (taking up with Amadi and her sisters).

Next, you're wrong about George Bush and George Bush Sr. They did NOT make their money from bribing Nigerians. That's a complete lie. On top of that, I don't know what news you're reading here, but in AMERICA the Bush family is a national treasure - and it's my national pride you're offending when you lie about them. I expect your apology immediately.

I've tried communicating with you. Sending you scanned images and forms. I even came here to your country to solve your issue in person - and you give me the cold shoulder.

We're staying at the Hotel Dona Benin. We'll be here for a couple more days. If you're serious about doing business, you'll come by and speak with me man to man. If not, that's fine too - I have plenty to do on my own.

Business or no business, I wish you the best of luck in you endeavors.

Wheaties,
John F. Reed - Breakfast of Champions
